A Biography.
Bertolt Brecht or Eugene Berthold Friedrich Brecht was born in Augsburg, Germany on February 10. 1989. He was a German poet, playwright and theatre artist. He matured into his career during the 1920s-30s -- under the era of the Weimar Republic.
His most notable works include, "Man Equals Man", "The Threepenny Opera" and "The Mother".
As Hitler rose to power, Brecht left Germany in 1933, eventually relocating to the United States in 1941 where he remained until 1947.
During his period of exile, Brecht continued to write plays including "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui".
He returned to Europe in 1947 and founded the Berliner Ensemble where his own plays were produced. Brecht died in Berlin on August 14th 1956.
